Co-sleeping Means No Sleeping

Well those of you who do follow along on Instagram and Facebook would have seen a couple of months ago that our little mister had decided that mum and dads bed was the new place to be (after a silly daddy made the mistake of letting him in for a cuddle at 2am) and since then I have been trying to do just about anything to brake him of the habit but without fail he still ends up back between us every night and don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with those that want to co-sleep for long periods of time, it just doesn’t work for us as a family.

You see the problem with co-sleeping in our bed is that as it is I struggle to sleep of a night time and have had this problem since having our youngest and even though we have talked to the doctors about it we haven’t found a solution that helps but we have moved found and honestly I have gotten used to not that much sleep thankfully but the other part is that by having a little human in our bed kind of takes the fun out of night time (if you get what I mean haha) and he is also determind that he can not sleep anywhere else but between us, not on either side or anything has to be between us and right at my back which doesn’t help when I want to roll at all.

So not long after he started doing this the hubby and I decided that our queen bed that we had just wasn’t cutting it anymore because as it was it felt to cramped anyway as my hubby like to lay diagonal in our bed and I just couldn’t stretch at all, so we upgraded to a king and I thought for sure that there would be enouh room and I tell you it feel like we haven’t even gone up a size because I’m still on the edge with the 2 boys having all the room in the world.

Now I no it sounds like we just straight up accepted him in to stay and upgraded the bed, well believe me there is a list of thing we tried and didn’t succeed and here are a few of the trial and fails that we did attempt. You see little mister used to share a room before this started happening with our second daughter and they got on like a house on fire and they played with all the same toys and were really close but then our room happened and the adjustments needed to hapeen as we didn’t want him getting up and waking her up at night so things needed to change. I decided to change my office (what you all would have seen in one of my previous posts) to his room in hopes of him still being in our room but still having his own space and bed but it didn’t work and every night we were still having the little intruder climb up and snuggle in.

The next major change I tried was because he has a little bunk bed and normally he slept under it I thought maybe if I put it in the corner of our room and had our mattress up against it that way he if got off it he just came straight down on our mattress and he would be safe and maybe being that close would help just keep him in his bed but it only half works, you see we manage to get him to go to bed and fall asleep in his bed but around midnight or sometimes later without a doubt every night I feel his little foot steps down on to our matress and then he is snuggled right back in between us again.

So we are now at our current predicament where we have a little human being that sleeps betwen us each night and it looks like there is no light at the end of the tunnel yet but we will get there eventually haha

Talk again soon CC ❤
