As the kids loved doing there fossicking yesterday this morning we decided to head down to Pat’s Gem which has a cafe, jewellery shop and an outdoor fossicking area and do some gem finding. Down there they had lots of area and activities for the kids other than the fossicking. There was a sand pit full of digger toys and shovels, there was heaps of area to run around and gardens to explore and there was heaps of birds for the kids to look at. They have a talking cockatoo who I think was gorgeous and the girls spent most of their day trying to get it so say hello (which it did but only when they started to walk away haha)

After having some lunch we were back at it and to our surprise our eldest even managed to find some sapphires that we missed which was perfect and once all was found, we took our findings and got them put into jars for each of the kids. Who they are now taking everywhere as they have said haha

So next it was time for some exploring of the outer parts of the towns, so we went driving to look at the types of homes and claim size people have on land and also just wanted to see some of they areas that we wouldn’t normally see. We got out to some driving tracks where one was called “policeman’s knob” but as we drove further along we realize out 2wd car wasn’t going to cut it anymore so back we went to look at some wildlife in the area.

Once everyone was all back and rest we went off to dinner down at the local pub then back to bed to get ready for heading home tomorrow, much to all the kids suggests of staying forever haha
