Hands/Feet Keepsakes

1I must say this is one the best activities to do with kids not only big kids but little ones as well, I made these with a playgroup I helped run and we had kids from a couple months old through to 4 and all of them loved doing it and all ages are able to help you made them and a big bonus is that all the ingredients are safe to eat so if your little ones decide to take a bite they will be fine 🙂

You will need:

  • 1 cup of Salt
  • 1 cup of Flour
  • 1/2 cup of Water
  • 1 Bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  1. In your bowl mixed dry ingredients and then mix water in. You can either mix with the spoon or your hands and if the kids want to help get them to do it themselves.
  2. Once it is all combined, make a ball of dough and flatten.
  3. You can then place what ever it is you want to do the mold of, either hand, foot or object.
  4. Once this is done you can place a bowl over the imprint or cut the edges just to make it neater and if you want to make it so it can hang you can push a hole in the top and then let dry (drying can either be done in the oven at 180° for a few hours or let dry on bench for 24 hours)
  5. When it is dry you can either leave it how it is or paint the imprint so that it stand out more.

Hope this is a fun little activity that the whole family can enjoy 🙂
